Overview
One book, one season, one group that actually turns into something. This is the deep end of the club: three months with the same people, the same story, and a handful of evenings built around it.
Where a monthly read is a book and a review, a seasonal read is a whole little world. We pick a book that gives us something to do offline: a museum that matches its setting, a film to argue about afterwards, a restaurant that fits its mood, a fireplace to read by. The book chooses the season’s agenda, basically.
Seasonal reads are by design more page-heavy books as we have a bit more time to go through it.
How it works
- The group opens for the season, on the day the season starts. Look for “OPEN TO JOIN”.
- You sign up. The full agenda gets shared early, so you can put every date in your phone at once.
- We kick off with a proper who’s-who. The group title turns “CLOSED – Active”.
- We read across three months, meeting up along the way.
- We close with The Book Review. Then the group turns “DONE” and we go again.
What to expect
This is the one where I ask you to check your agenda before you join, not after, babe.
I plan these dates weeks ahead and build the season around who’s in. Signing up means you’re coming: to the review, and to at least three of the meet-ups. Nobody’s angry if life happens, but tell us upfront rather than on the night. We hold a chair for you the way a group of friends does. And yes, we’re actually looking out for you as we can’t wait to get to know you!
And still: half-read is enough. In these sessions the book is more like a ‘set the scene’ than an actual read. In theory you could happily join all events and not read until the last month, however I might not recommend that for the experience.
A perfect fit for… Well, is this you?
You are…
Looking for more than a book club. You want the people, the evenings, the inside-jokes. You want to build relationships like you used to by just doing a group project or having the same lecture. Then this is the one.
Perfect. Come stand in the doorway:
